Do any, (or all), of these machines cure small resin projects that DON’T use a mold? I make flat resin-coated wooden ornaments and magnets with thin layers added on step by step. I have been air-drying them in a covered area for the usual 24 hours. I’d be so happy to cut down on the curing time. Just wondering about these machines because they always mention using silicone molds with them.

Great question! You can absolutely use these without silicone molds. In fact, I use them to make my rose petal earrings, which do not use a mold. However, you will want to make sure you lay a silicone mat down on the plastic first so your resin does not stick to the machine. I believe these were originally designed as food dehydrators, so, unfortunately, many do not include silicone mats. However, they are very cheap. I suggest buying a few mats, cutting them to size, and then placing your creations on top of the mat. Best practices would be to pull a tray out, put the mat on, complete your project on the tray, then start heating. This cuts down on having to move your project too much.
