This piece, titled RESIN GLAM, uses multiple Resin art techniques, including, but not limited to:
- The Resin SWIPE (not sure who created this one)
- The BLOOM technique (originally done in acrylic pours and taught by Sheele Art. However, my personal inspiration to try this with resin came from Moonkusser Art’s video.
- RESIN CUPPING: My own technique.
What is Resin Cupping?
Resin cupping, as shown in the video tutorial above, uses silicone cups to create barriers on top of a canvas that direct the flow of resin.
The resin is poured over the cups in various quantities and left for varying amounts of times before cups are removed. Experimenting with different colors and different additives allows you to make endless amounts of designs and effects in your resin art.
The results are simply awesome.

Remember to have fun. This technique quickly became our favorite as it really exhibits how endless the possibilities truly are for creating with resin!

Materials Needed For Resin Cupping Technique
As simple as this technique is, you do need a few tools to use it successfully on our resin artwork Here is the list of materials needed to use the resin cupping technique on your next resin art piece:
- Epoxy Resin
- Color Additives

- Wooden Canvas (preferably with raised edges, like this one.)
- Silicone Cups
- In different shapes and sizes to make different effects.
- I especially love these silicone cupcake cups that comes in a different sizes and shapes.

Silicone Cups and Resin Art
Silicone cups are a great investment if you are going to do any type of resin art as epoxy resin will not stick to them. Not only can you use them for the resin cupping method, but you can use them over and over again to mix your epoxy.
After you finish a project, let the epoxy resin dry in each of the silicone cups and the next day you can peel the resin right out of the cups and throw it away. The silicone cups are left clean.
In fact, silicone is so great to use with resin art that I find myself buying anything I see if it is made out of silicone and reasonably priced. Even if I am not sure what I will use it for, I eventually find a way to use it for a future project.

Wow, what a beautiful piece you made! me and my wife actually wanted to do something like this for a while now and I think you just inspired us. what kind of resin do you recommend? we got some on amazon with some pretty mixed reviews so I want to ask someone with some experience.
