Meyspring Epoxy Resin Color Pigment Review

Meyspring does not only have some of the best, most beautiful resin pigment powders on the market today.  They also have a beautiful mission behind their company.  Meyspring believes that a persons well-being is directly correlated expressing creativity. We love this because it is in line with Craftelot Resin Co.’s mission to help people heal and express themselves through resin art.  As a result, Meyspring has made a commitment to empowering creative and healthy lifestyles.

Meyspring Epoxy Resin Color Pigment Powders are all non-toxic and contain only cosmetic-grade ingredients.  An added bonus, Meyspring only sources products from ethical companies that neither commission tests on animals nor use child labor in their supply chain. (So you can feel good purchasing Meyspring products 🙂 Because no one likes their powders tested on cute little chimps!)  Rest assured, Meyspring pigment powders are 100% natural and eco-friendly.

Meyspring Epoxy Resin Color Pigment Powders easily create natural cells and mesmerizing special effects when used in epoxy resin art. If you are an ADD-type crafter like me, it’s nice to know Meyspring epoxy resin pigment powders can also be used in soap-making and DIY makeup, including nail polish, lip gloss, eyeshadows, etc.  (I’ll get around to trying these other DIY aspirations someday, promise!)

Meyspring offers a few different pigment powder collections.

First, is Meyspring’s Two Tone collection.

“The shades in our Two Tone Collection are particularly intense, combining deep absorption color and interference effect all in one. Which will increase significantly the brilliant color effect in every resin art project. The final appearance will always depend on the viewing angle, resulting in a continually changing impression.” -Meyspring

This description is spot on.  You will not be disappointed with any of the pigments in the Meyspring Two Tone collection. The depth of colors, from every angle, are mesmerizing in all Meyspring pigment powders..

Meysprings’ Two Tone pigment powders are mica-based and coated with Titanium Dioxide and/or Iron Oxide, creating a pearly special effect by combining light interference with the light absorption of an added colorant. At the specular angle, the interference color is seen; at other angles, the mass tone of the additional coating dominates.

The second Meyspring collection is the Gemstone Collection.

This collection is inspired by, you guessed it, the natural colors found in gemstones.  Any resin artist worth their salt knows how important it is to color your resin with true to nature colors when making geodes and, we promise, this line rocks! (Pun intended.)

As far as particulate size goes, Meysprings’ pigment powders are very fine, (10-60μm) non-toxic, and inert.  As a result, they mix wonderfully with epoxy resin.  In fact, they can be mixed into virtually any viscous, transparent medium and applied to any surface. Here are some examples of other mediums you can color with Meyspring pigment powders:

  • Epoxy Resin
  • Plastic Resins
  • Screen Printing Inks
  • Gravure Inks
  • Latex
  • Rubber
  • Plastidip
  • Halo EFX
  • Embossing
  • Automotive paint
  • Lacquer
  • Fiberglass

Meyspring pigment powders come in two different types of packages.  The plastic tubs with tight-screwing lids are well labeled and generous in size.  However, the plastic baggies used in many of the kits get messy.  We did not mark Meyspring down for this but we do hope to see a better packaging options for all of Meyspring Pigment Powders products in the future.

Meyspring received 5 silicone spoons in every category.
